Potential Relationship between the Components

The entire SmartWire Darwin system operates on a common
supply voltage. Provide a common star point for the earth
wiring. In this way the various stations in the SmartWire
Darwin system will not be electrically isolated from one
another. The bus and the SmartWire Darwin system are elec-
trically isolated from one another.

Connection SmartWire Darwin

X

Connect the SmartWire Darwin network via the 8-pole
SmartWire Darwin cable. To do so use the SmartWire
Darwin cable SWD4-100LF8-24 and the relevant spade
connector SWD4- 8MF2 or prefabricated cables, for
example SWD4-3F8-24-2S

Warning!

The gateway has protection against polarity reversal for
the 24 V DC POW supply. However, if the gateway is
connected via the serial interface to an earthed device (for
example to a PC), the gateway can be destroyed, if the
polarity of the power supply is reversed!
