There are various programmable positions in a servo
press setup. Access to this process is made available
through screens such as shown in Figure 5-11 on the
previous page.
Moving the Thruster
-
To move the servo press/
thruster during the teaching process the user will use the
optical switches located on the base. When the generator
is placed into a teaching mode, the switches will not
trigger a weld.
Speed
- There are three speeds available in the teach
window. The low speed is extremely slow and is meant
for fine tuning the position. The high speed setting is
quite fast and meant to get the servo press from top of
stroke to the part quickly. However, you will find that the
medium speed satisfies most needs.
Direction
-
The direction to jog the servo press up or
down can be changed as well.
During the teaching process, the user will get feedback on
force and current position from the on-screen display.
Move to Saved Position
-
If a previous position has
been set, the user can press the
Move to Saved Position
button and use the switches to move the servo at the high
speed to the previous position. Finer adjustments can be
made from there if desired.
Select Parameter
- Choose a parameter from the list
of three choices:
• Top of Stroke Position,
• Sensing Start Position, or
• Travel Limit.
