Prerequisite

Prerequisites for operating the system include:
•

The chapter "Commissioning" has been successfully completed.

•

The water supply and gas supply are connected. Not supplied by Dräger.

5.4

Operating status

5.4.1

System switched off

The entire system is switched off. No safety and monitoring devices are operated.
•

Main switch is switched off.

•

"System on" key switch is switched off.

5.4.2

Switch-on procedure for main switch

After the system has been switched on via the main switch, the system is forcibly purged 
of any gas residues. This procedure takes 3 minutes. The system cannot be started during 
this time.

5.4.3

Procedure for "System on" key switch

The control voltage to the system is switched on using the "System on" key switch. When 
the key switch has been activated, the touchscreen is activated and the entire system 
forcibly purged for 1 minute.
If during the switch-on procedure the "System on" key switch is switched on within the 
3 minutes during which the system is being forcibly cleared, the system is not cleared for 
an additional 1 minute.
•

Main switch is switched on.

•

"System on" key switch is switched on.

CAUTION

Environmental risk due to bioburden in the extinguishing water
It is recommended to use fresh water for the exercises. If fresh water is not used, the 
cooling and extinguishing water must be tested regularly for bioburden.
There must be a permanent and an adequate extinguishing water supply available during 
operation of the fire simulation system.
