4.3 Air Pressure Adjustment
System air pressure is displayed on the pressure gauge (shown on the lower right in the illustration).
Adjust the air pressure by rotating the black knob on top of the air filter/regulator module. To increase the
air pressure, rotate the adjustment knob
clockwise
. To decrease the pressure, rotate the knob
counterclockwise
. The recommended machine operating pressure is 90 PSI (6,2 bar).
Warning
: Never allow the system air pressure to exceed 90 PSI (6,2 bar).
4.4 Air Filter/Regulator
The air filter/regulator module removes solid particles from the air supply. The bowl located on the bottom
of the module is equipped with an automatic float valve which dumps the solids that have accumulated in
the bottom of the filter. The float operates when the air pressure is removed from the machine. To
maintain maximum filter efficiency and air flow, the filter element should be cleaned on a quarterly basis.
Change the filter element after one (1) year of service or when the air pressure drops and cannot be
adjusted to the recommended setting after cleaning.
Caution
: Do not use a polycarbonate bowl on the filter/regulator. A polycarbonate bowl may be damaged
and could possibly fail if exposed to synthetic oils, thinner solvents, trichloroethylene, kerosene and other
aromatic hydrocarbons. Therefore a metal bowl
is required.
4.5 Main Lubricator
The main mechanical systems lubricator is
mounted either on the back of the control box or
at the upper right (input) end of the machine (as
shown at right).
Use only a high quality SAE #10 pneumatic
lubrication oil. Other oil types are not
recommended for the pneumatic lubrication
system. The use of oil with a higher viscosity
than SAE #10 will result in machine failure.
Warning
: The lubricator cannot be
refilled while the machine is under
pressure. Always shut off the air
pressure supply and purge pressure
from the system before refilling with
lubricating fluids.
To add oil to the lubricator, ensure that the air
supply is shut off, and remove the filler plug. Fill
with oil to the level mark and replace the plug.
To adjust the oil flow rate, turn on the main air
supply. Turn the needle valve located on the top
of the lubricator
counterclockwise
until the
desired flow is achieved. Monitor the drop rate of
the oil flow into the system through the sight
glass on the top of the lubricator. The preferred
flow of oil is one (1) drop of oil for every 10-15 machine cycles.
