5.6. After-Treatment System

GL11K engine must be equipped with after treatment system (ATS) for meeting Euro5 emission

regulation.

GL11K’s after treatment system consists of OC (Oxidation Catalyst) and muffler which contains OC.

The OC (Oxidation Catalyst) can remove HC (Hydrocarbon), CO (Carbon Monoxide) in engine exhaust

gas.

GL11K after treatment system (Oxidation catalyst)

CAUTION:

If ATS is contaminated with lubricant oil. In this case, ATS must be replaced because OC

cannot remove HC and CO properly.

The changes of ATS position and tightening position are not allowed because OC substrate

is fragile for vibration.

The ATS’s surface temperature is about 150 ~ 200°C at full load so the combustibles

material must not be put nearby ATS.

The ATS’s water (air) cleaning is not recommended because the high-pressure water (air)

can damage OC’s surface.
