Maintenance

CAUTION:
Always close the fuel cylinder valves before servicing the system. Close the valves using the
valve manufactures recommended procedure. Check for multiple cylinders and close all the
valves before proceeding. Do not close the manual shut off (1/4 turn) valve.

1) Relieve fuel pressure by running the engine until it stops.

2) Close the manual shut off (1/4 turn) valve,

3) Disconnect the battery ground cable.

4) Clean the dirt and foreign material from the fuel metering valve

5) Depress the core of the valve to relieve the pressure in the metering valve.

6) Disconnect the electrical connector from the NGT sensor.

7) Note the orientation of the NGT sensor.

8) Remove the NGT sensor.

<Installation>

1) Lightly coat the threads of the NGT sensor with Teflon thread paste.

2) Install the NGT sensor. Check sensor for proper orientation.

CAUTION:
Tighten sensor an additional amount, not to exceed 1/2 turn to properly orient the sensor.

3) Connect the electrical connector to the NGT sensor.

4) Connect the battery ground cable.

5) Open the manual shut off(1/4 turn) valve.

6) Open the fuel cylinder manual valves. On cylinders with electronic in tank valves, connect the

electrical harness connectors to the tank valves.

7) With the engine operating at an idle, check for leaks around the NGT sensor using a non ammonia

soap solution or a liquid commercial leak detector.

8) Run the vehicle and check for proper operation.

3.4.9. Natural gas tank pressure (NGTP) sensor replacement

<Removal>

1) Close all fuel cylinder manual valves. On

cylinders with electronic in tank valves,

disconnect the electrical harness

connectors from the tank valves.
