How to remove the system module
1.
Disconnect the system module power cord from the system
module.
2.
Remove the removable media drive panel. Refer to
‘‘Removing and Installing the Removable Media Drive
Panel’’ on page 6-9 for directions.
3.
Disconnect any cables attached to the back of the system
unit.
4.
Remove any option modules attached to the system module.
Refer to ‘‘Removing and Installing an Option Module’’ on
page 5-30 for directions.
5.
Remove the CPU module. Refer to ‘‘Removing and
Installing a CPU Module’’ on page 5-12 for directions.
6.
Disconnect the internal SCSI cable. Remove the hard disk
drives.
7.
Remove any memory modules attached to the system unit.
Refer to ‘‘Removing and Installing Memory Modules’’ on
page 5-19 for directions.
8.
Remove the ESAR address chip from the system module.
Refer to ‘‘Removing and Installing an ESAR Chip on the
System Module’’ on page 5-7 for directions.
9.
Unscrew the option module standoffs and the removable
media bracket standoffs.
10.
Pull the system module toward the front of the system
unit until the large end of the keyhole slots are over the
mounting posts.
11.
Lift the system module over the mounting posts and away
from the chassis.
Caution:
Be careful not to damage the gasket on the system module.
