The utility sensor is for pressure indication, safety and housekeeping functions.
It is a temperature compensated micro-machined silicon sensor module or a
strain gauge transducer.

5.14.2.3

TEST VENT VALVE

Open/close need valve. The valve is normally closed by the force of two
Belleville washer. It is opened by an opposing force applied by pneumatic
pressure on a bladder.

5.14.2.4

LO Q-RPT SHUTOFF VALVE

Same as the test vent valve (see Section 5.14.2.3).

5.14.2.5

LO Q-RPT

PPCH may be equipped with a Lo Q-RPT. The Lo Q-RPT provides a lower
measurement range than the Hi Q-RPT or utility sensor. See Section 5.14.2.2
for a description of Q-RPTs and Section 1.2.2.1 for complete Q-RPT
specifications.

5.14.2.6

LO Q-RPT VENT VALVE

Same as the test vent valve (see Section 5.14.2.3).

PUMP ACCUMULATOR

High pressure stainless steel volume of approximately 40 cc.

FRONT PANEL

Sheet metal with inlaid overlay panel on which a membrane switch keypad and
electro-luminescent display are mounted.

5.14.2.9

ELECTRICAL CABLE TRACK

Articulated track to organize various cables connecting between the PPCH’s
lower mechanical unit and upper electrical unit. The track is articulated so that
the mechanical unit can slide out.

5.14.2.10

HYDROPNEUMATIC PUMP

The pump is a pneumatically powered, gate valve controlled, piston pump similar to
a double-acting pneumatic cylinder. The pump pistons have a nominal ratio of
400:1 (PPCH-200, PPCH-100) or 200:1 (PPCH-140, PPCH-70) between the
pneumatic piston and hydraulic plunger depending on PPCH model. Drive
pressure to the pump is controlled by the drive pressure regulator

(see Section 5.14.2.16). The pump operates continuously until the pneumatic
drive pressure on the pneumatic piston is in equilibrium with the oil pressure on
the oil plunger.

5.14.2.11

INLET CONTROL VALVE

Highly progressive needle valve. The valve is operated by a stepping motor and
drive belt.
