The Ouster LiDAR compliance block enables communication with Ouster Gen2 LiDAR hardware. Use the
Ouster LiDAR compliance block with Autonomous Control Library version 2.60 or later function blocks to
process data collected by the Ouster LiDAR hardware.
Input data types must exactly match the indicated type for a successful compile.
The checkpoints page includes advanced checkpoints for each input, output, and internal signal. These
require a unique namespace to prevent multiple checkpoints with the same name. See the topic
on page 26 for more information about creating unique namespaces.
This block requires a 'Data_Lockers' block to compile and function correctly. Place 'Data_Lockers' block
v1.09 or later, only once, anywhere in the application from the 'Utility' category of the latest version of
Autonomous Control Library 2.60 or later.
Light detection and ranging (LiDAR) sensors determine distances to objects through laser lights. The
lasers measure the time for the reflected light to return to the LiDAR hardware, so it can map out the
environment around itself. The company, Ouster, creates several types of LiDAR sensors that work with
the Ouster LiDAR compliance block, which allows programmers to use the Ouster LiDAR hardware and
Danfoss hardware together when creating their application in PLUS+1 software.
Background on Autonomous Machines
What classifies a machine as autonomous? Autonomous machines range from some parts of the machine
moving with minimal human help to being totally autonomous where a machine does all the tasks
without a human being present.
Autonomous machines require three layers to make them function without a human:
1. Perception - sensors act as the eyes and ears of the machine.
2. Positioning - coordinates detect the machine's location both globally and locally.
3. Navigation - the machine moves from one location to another.
