1. How should I mount Ouster LiDAR hardware?
a. Mount LiDARs any way, as long as their field of vision allows them to see necessary items. For
instance, do not mount a LiDAR in the front grill of a truck if it needs to see behind the truck.
2. Where do I find the Ouster LiDAR compliance block?
a. If using the Update Center program, search for Ouster LiDAR in PLUS+1 Update Center > Select
file manually > Edit > Content > PLUS+1 Partner Products > Ouster LiDAR. Select Ouster
LiDAR > Save Changes > Install.
b. In PLUS+1 GUIDE, look under the Hardware tab.
3. What blocks go with the Ouster LiDAR compliance block?
a. A Data_Lockers block version 2.6 or newer is required.
b. Each piece of Ouster LiDAR hardware needs its own Ouster LiDAR compliance block.
on page 37 to see which individual
Autonomous Control Library function blocks to use.
4. Which way does the Ouster LiDAR hardware scan?
a. Counter-clockwise. However, the software start and stop angles allow scanning data in other ways,
but the hardware still always scans counter-clockwise.
5. Why won't the Ouster LiDAR hardware connect?
a. Connect all hardware with power cables.
b. In PLUS+1 GUIDE, check that the Ethernet is connected to input and output Ethernet from the top
of the application and not USBEthernet.
c. Check that the service tool screen has license compatibility with GUIDE.
d. Finally, shut down the Ouster LiDAR hardware for one minute and restart it. If using an XM100, turn
on the XM100 first and then the LiDAR.
6. What if the Cfg_Error returns a value of 9, "Failure to set LiDAR mode"?
a. Reset the Ouster LiDAR hardware by turning it off and on. If using the ACL Extract_Ring block in
the application, check that there are non-zero X values.
7. What if the Ouster LiDAR compliance block reports dropped frames?
a. Reset the Ouster LiDAR hardware by turning it off and on. The service tool should have
Dropped_Frames of 0 or a very low number. If not, there may be too much data. The XM100
cannot support a 128-channel Ouster LiDAR hardware minimum and maximum azimuth range of
180° to -180°, horizontal resolution of 2048, or frame rate 10 Hz. Try reducing the azimuth range,
horizontal resolution, or frame rate to lower the amount of transmitted data.
