The image on the left shows the Ouster LiDAR hardware with ring rows labeled. The image on the right
shows how the ring rows are spaced unevenly during the scan, which occurs depending on the LiDAR
type.
Ouster Studio can be configured to show each ring row with different colors, making it easier to find
specific rings.
Ouster LiDAR Supporting Features
Ouster LiDAR hardware maps an area by measuring the distance from itself to objects within its line of
sight. Using this data, it is possible to create a three-dimensional map of an area.
Supported Controllers
Ouster LiDAR hardware requires Ethernet connection support. The Ouster LiDAR compliance block,
Ouster LiDAR hardware, and Ouster's own firmware version 2.2.0 or newer support the following Danfoss
products:
•
XM100
•
DM1000
•
DM1200
Supported Ouster LiDAR Hardware
The Ouster LiDAR compliance block supports the following Ouster LiDAR hardware in 32 channel, 64
channel, and 128 channel:
•
OS0
•
OS1
•
OS2
How to Choose Hardware
Choose hardware based on processing power. The XM100 controller has more processing power than
the DM1000 and DM1200 display controllers. Additionally, the display controllers use processing power
to show their graphics, which the XM100 does not need to do.
The higher channel LiDARs have more data to process than lower channel ones, but the higher channel
LiDARs can see objects in the environment better, especially at further distances. However, sometimes
machines need multiple LiDARs to see more of the surrounding environment but may not need to see far
or very clearly. In those cases, multiple LiDARs could pair to one XM100. See
on
page 26 for more information.
Look at Dropped Frames in the Service Tool screen. If the hardware and software cannot process the
data, a number higher than 1 appears. Switch the hardware or reconfigure the code to get more room to
process the data.
