1.2 POWER STEERING
The power steering lever can raise up, lower or turn the
reaping unit or change directions of the unit. These opera-
tions can simultaneously be performed.
• The reaping unit is lifted or lowered when pushing the
power steering lever forward or rearward.
• By pushing the power steering lever to the left or right,
the operator can change moving direction of combine
harvester with the steering clutch disengaged or the
friction plate pushed to transfer power to the combine
harvester's moving direction. Also, the amount of ap-
plied power to the steering lever can adjust the level of
friction and allow the combine harvester to make a wide
or sharp corner turn.
• By pushing the steering lever diagonally, the opera-
tor can raise up the reaping unit, change the combine
harvester's moving direction, or make a sharp turn.

1.2.1 LIFTING AND LOWERING REAPING
UNIT
A. LIFTING
1. When the lever is pushed to the lifting direction, the le-
ver and its lever point move around from the pivot.
2. As the A section of the lever point pin moves, the reap-
ing unit height control lever switch moves to the left and
the switch for lifting comes on.
3. The reaping unit height controller supplies electric cur-
rent to the direction control solenoid valve to lift up the
reaping unit.
B. LOWERING
1. When the lever is pushed to the lowering direction, the
reaping unit height control lever switch moves to the
right and the switch for lowering comes on.
2. The reaping unit height controller supplies electric cur-
rent to the low speed or high speed solenoid valve to
lower the reaping unit.

• The solenoid valve is solely controlled by electricity.
Therefore, when the ignition switch is in the "OFF"
position, the reaping unit cannot be lowered with the
power steering lever.
