D. ADJUSTING FAN BELT

1. Apply force of 10 kgf to the fan belt (in the middle of the

fan pulley and alternator pulley) and measure its de

ec-

tion.

2. If its de

ection is out of the speci

ed range (5 ~ 10 mm

(0.197 ~ 0.394 in.)), move the alternator to just the ten-
sion.

3. Check the belt for any damage. If its surface is worn or

stuck into the belt groove, replace it.
