• The idling speed has been factory-set. Therefore,

the idling adjusting screw or spring should not be
disassembled nor readjusted.

IMPORTANT

►

AT IDLING

When the speed control lever (15) is at the idling position,
the governor spring 1 (2) is free and the governor spring 2
(3) only acts slightly. The governor sleeve (12) is pushed
leftward by a centrifugal force of the steel ball (13). There-
fore, the fork lever 1 (4) and control rack (14) are moved to
the left by the governor sleeve and then the idling adjust-
ing spring is compressed by the control rack. As a result,
the control rack is kept at a position where the centrifugal
force of the steel ball and forces of the start spring, gover-
nor spring 2 and idling limit spring are balanced, providing
stable idling.

AT HIGH SPEED DRIVING WITH OVERLOAD

When overload is applied to the engine running at high
speed, the engine speed drops and the centrifugal force
of steel ball becomes less. The fork lever 2 (5) is pulled to
the right by the governor springs 1 (2) and 2 (3) and the
amount of fuel injected increases until it stops by the ad-
justing bolt. After that, when the force of the torque spring
becomes greater than the centrifugal force of the steel ball,
the fork lever 1 (4) moves forward to increase fuel injection,
causing the engine to run continuously at a high torque.
