Firmware Upgrade
Firmware Upgrade
Use this section to update the RocketLinx ES7528 with the latest firmware. Comtrol provides the latest firmware on the
Comtrol
ftp site
. The new firmware may include new features, bug fixes, or other software changes. Comtrol Technical
Support suggests you use the latest firmware before installing the switch at a customer site.
Note: The system will be automatically rebooted after you finish upgrading firmware. You should alert the attached users
before updating the firmware that network interruption may occur.
The following represents a firmware upgrade using local file mode.
Firmware Upgrade
Description
System Firmware Version The firmware version on the RocketLinx ES7528.
You should check the version number after the switch is rebooted.
System Firmware Date
The build date of the firmware on the switch.
Firmware Upgrade
Local File
•
Upgrade the firmware using a local file.
•
Browse to locate the Firmware File Name of the new firmware and click
Upgrade
.
TFTP Server
:
•
Upgrade the firmware by uploading the firmware using a TFTP server file.
•
TFTP Server IP
is the address of the TFTP server where the firmware files is located.
•
Firmware File Name, type the file name of the firmware and then click
Upgrade
.
Technical Tip
:
Default Configuration File:
The switch provides the default configuration file in the system. You
can use the
Reset
button on the
Factory Default
page or the
Reload
command in the CLI to reset
the system.
Running Configuration File:
The CLI allows you to view the latest settings running in the
ES7528. The information shown here are the settings you have set up, but have not yet saved to the
flash. The settings must be saved to the flash in order to work after a power recycle. You can use
show
running-config
to view it in CLI.
Startup Configuration File
: After you saved the
running-config
to flash, the new settings are
kept an d work after the power is cycled. Use the
show startup-config
to view it in the CLI. The
Backup
command can only backup the configuration file to your PC or TFTP server.
