SDM-2020 Satellite Demodulator

2.2 Installation

Note:

If there is any problem with the installation, contact EFData’s Customer Support

Department.

A complete demodulator consists of the SDM-2020 main unit and an optional plug-in
data interface. The demodulator is shipped with the data interface installed in the main
unit. Changing a data interface is easily accomplished in the field and does not require
disassembly of the main unit.

Refer to Section 2.2.1 for information on removing and installing data interface modules.

Install the demodulator (Figure 2-1) as follows:

1. Mount the demodulator chassis in the assigned position of the equipment rack.

Support the demodulator with either a rack-mounted shelf, or the two rear
rack-mounted brackets supplied with the unit.

2. Connect the cables to the proper locations on the rear panel. Refer to Section 2.3

for connector pinouts, placement, and function.

3.

The demodulator will turn on automatically when the primary power connection
is made (plugged in).

Note:

Before plugging in the demodulator, become familiar with the front panel

operation in Chapter 3.
