Lock unit
Lock unit is a feature available when security is enabled. With security enabled, the
ID listing screen (press [
ID
] from the main screen) has an extra key labeled
LOCK
UNIT
located to the right of the list of IDs. Pressing the [
LOCK UNIT
] key immediately
causes the unit to display the main screen with the keys disabled and grayed out.
Any sampling in progress is unaffected, and the main screen will continue to update.
When any key on the main screen is pressed, the log in screen appears. Any
ongoing sampling is still unaffected. The new user may then log in. The secure main
screen will return if a user fails to log in.
2.14.5
Unit ID
The CI-154 can be assigned a 1 to 16 character identification which will appear on
all printouts and the top of the ID listing screen. To set the unit ID, press [
SET ID
] in
the security screen and enter the desired name followed by [
EXIT
]. If you change
your mind and want to keep the previous unit ID, press [
CANCEL
]. To have no unit ID
whatsoever, which means no unit ID appearing on printouts or the ID listing screen,
simply enter 1 to 16 spaces in the name (no other characters).
Although the unit ID is set in the security screen, it really is independent of whether
or not security is enabled. If unit ID has a name, it will appear on printouts and the
top of the ID listing screen independent of the security setting. If unit ID is blank, it
will not appear on printouts or the top of the ID listing screen.
2.14.6
Altitude
The CI-154 utilizes an altitude setting to adjust the volumetric flow rate so the unit
can compensate for change in air density as a function of altitude. This method
results in sample times remaining constant for a given sample volume, independent
of the altitude setting. To set the unit altitude, press [
SET
] in the security screen and
enter the desired altitude (in feet or meters). If necessary, press [
FEET
] or [
METER
] to
change the displayed unit of measure. The left arrow button erases the last numeral
entered, while [
CLEAR
] erases the entire altitude. Press [
ENTER
] or [
EXIT
] to input the
altitude to the unit and return to the security screen.
Similar to unit ID, altitude is set in the security screen, but it really is independent
of whether or not security is enabled.
2.14.7
Cal Due
The Last Calibration and the Calibration Due dates are displayed upon power up.
Enforcing Cal Due will prevent use of the particle counter after the Calibration Due
date. The unit can be turned on and operated except that pressing [
START
] will bring
up a message screen informing the user that the calibration due date has elapsed
and that the settings prevent use under this condition.
