CAUTION:
Stored data in reports is grouped by
programs. Altering sample parameters
without saving changes to a program assigns
the data to a blank program. Read below for
further details.
To load saved settings, press [
LOAD SETTINGS
] at the bottom of the main data screen.
Use [
UP SELECT
] or [
DOWN SELECT
] to highlight the desired program. When you press
[
EXIT
] a confirmation screen will appear:
LOAD SETTINGS
? The name of the program to
be loaded will appear in a box below that. Press the [
YES
] key to accept the
program. The parameters of this program will take affect when you start a new
sample by pressing the [
START
] key.
You can also check the settings of any program from the
LOAD SETTINGS
screen.
Simply move the highlight to the desired program and press the [
SHOW SETTINGS
]
key. The next screen will list the parameter settings currently in effect. Press the
[
PAGE DOWN
] key to check the alarm settings. Settings may also be printed from this
screen. Press [
EXIT
] to return to the set-up screen, and again to return to the main
data screen.
When a program is currently in use, its name will be in the lower left portion of the
main screen where “PROGRAM=” is found. If any setting is changed, this will cause
the current program’s name to disappear. This means any subsequent sampling will
have 16 blank spaces attributed to the data’s program name. This is important since
program name is the main parser when generating reports. Data that is intended to
be grouped together under a given program name for a report, such as ISO or GMP,
can be inadvertently excluded if a setting is changed part way through the data
gathering process. Furthermore, all samples with a blank program name get lumped
together under the blank name for reports, potentially creating an invalid mix of
IDs. The user must therefore be very careful not to change any settings in the SET-
UP screen until after a data taking session is finished.
The only things that can be changed without “losing” the current program
are: all settings in the REPORT screen, security settings, unit name, user
name, unit altitude, the time, and the date (changing the date format
M/D/Y to D/M/Y and vice versa
will
cause loss of the current program
name).
2.2.5
Using stored programs on a USB jump drive
The USB jump drive can hold up to 30 programs, each with settings and up to 100
location ID’s, just like the internal memory of the particle counter. Using the USB
jump drive enables the settings and a set of location ID’s to be easily copied from
one particle counter to another. The user can also save different programs to the
USB drive. A program on the drive can be selected and loaded into the particle
counter as a new current program. To begin using the USB jump drive, insert it into
the USB port. The USB menu will appear.
Selecting [
SAVE SETTINGS
] will bring up a menu with the name of the current program
that it will be saved under. If the current program name already exists on the drive,
a message saying so will appear. At this point the user may either overwrite it or
assign a different name. The saved program will be added at end of the list of
available programs.
