Getting familiar with the CI-154
NOTE:
The CI-154 is equipped with security features that
restrict access to controls depending on the security
level of a logged on user. The security features are
not enabled when the CI-154 is initially shipped from
the factory. It is recommended that the user become
familiar with the basic operation of the CI-154 before
enabling the security features.
2.1.1
The CI-154 chassis
The CI-154 has a brushed, stainless steel chassis to maintain a clean appearance
while providing the preferred covering for equipment that may be routinely exposed
to harsh, disinfectant solutions.
An overlay covers the LCD touch screen and power switch, protecting them during
cleaning. The USB connector is located on the front. A captive cover protects the
connector when not in use.
Below the power button is a green LED. The LED flashes when the battery is fully
charged. When the battery is being charged, the light is solid green. When the unit
is turned on, the charging circuit is turned off and the LED is off. The battery is
located in the base of the unit and is accessed through a door on the bottom of the
instrument.
In the upper right corner of the rear panel is a cover for the printer paper
compartment. It is held on by two slotted thumbscrews, which are easily removed
by hand or screwdriver.
There is an exhaust port at the back of the unit. Located at the top left corner, a
white, screw-on cover has the exhaust blowing downwards. This port cover helps
protect the instrument during applications of disinfectant solutions, and does not
need to be removed during normal operation. The cover can be screwed off and
replaced with the external exhaust fitting (an accessory included with the unit,
Climet part number 01246000) that is used in certain applications to exhaust the
sample air out of the area through ½ inch ID tubing.
Connectors are located on the back, including a standard DB-9 RS-232 connector,
an Ethernet connector, and one round connector for an alarm output. The
connectors have captive covers used to protect the ports when not in use.
The AC power entry module is located on the rear panel. It connects to a universal
power supply that can operate on AC power ranging from 100 VAC to 240 VAC. One
of three power cords are supplied, depending on the destination: U.S., DIN
(European) or British.
