SET THE GROUND POSTS
After the site is prepared and leveled, set the ground
posts. A level site is required for this structure.
WARNING:
Verify that no underground pipes or
underground cables exist
before
you dig holes for the
ground posts.
•
Ground post holes must be dug to a depth of 4'
below the finished grade using a 24" auger. Post is
then set in the hole, plumbed, and hole is filled with
concrete.
•
Setting a concrete column form tube in the hole to
prevent the hole from collapsing and to form the
concrete is strongly recommended.
•
Consult the
Ground Post Placement Diagram
at
the back of these instructions for proper position and
spacing of the ground posts.
Complete the following steps.
1. Locate where you want to position the arena.
2. Consult
the
Ground Post Placement Diagram
and
position the vertical metal posts as shown on the
diagram.
Position the ground posts as shown on the diagram. If
the posts are not set as shown, the sidewall framing and
the rafters will not install correctly.
ATTENTION:
The ground posts are designed to set four
feet (4')
below the finished grade
. Different soil types can
greatly affect the stability of the ground posts.
GROUND POSTS MUST BE ANCHORED IN PLACE
WITH CONCRETE.
Use a 24" auger to dig post holes.
CAUTION: For loose or unstable soil types or conditions,
consult local contractors for assistance before you dig
and prepare to set the ground posts.
SET GROUND POSTS FOR THE GATE
The ground posts on either side of the gate opening are
different from the remaining ground posts and must be
positioned where the gate will be located.
When setting the posts, locate the two (2) ground posts
used for the gate (DA4X4PAR and DA4X4PAD) and set
those where you want the gate installed.
The posts used to support the gate are equipped with
mounts welded in the locations shown by arrows below.
Diagram shows the ground posts for the gate.
Determine the desired hinge side of the gate and set the
posts accordingly. Consult the ground post diagram.
