3. Using additional lifts, choose two more rafters and
attach these to the ground posts and to the crown as
previously described.
4. After the first three rafters are secured in place,
install the remaining rafters to complete the rafter
frame.
5. Return to and check all rafter mounting bolts to
ensure that all bolts and nuts are properly tightened.
6. Install two (2) Tek screws through the ground post to
secure the base plate to the post. Install two
additional screws opposite those shown below to
secure the plate to the other side of the ground post.

7. Once the rafter frame is assembled, install the
purlins for the ring bracing.
INSTALL PURLINS FOR RING BRACING
The ring bracing purlins help to stabilize the rafter frame.
The parts needed for the ring bracing include the
following:
•
Purlins: All three lengths.
•
FAG355 3/8" x 1" Hex Bolt
•
FALB08B 3/8" Flat Washers
•
3/8" Lock Washers
•
3/8" Nuts
Complete these steps to install the purlins.
NOTE:
Purlins are attached on top of the connection
brackets. (See diagram below.)
1. Take one purlin for the bottom ring of the frame,
place the slots over the bracket holes, and insert two
bolts, with flat washers on top of the purlin (shown),
and secure with a lock washer and nut.
NOTE:
The flat washers may overlap each other due to
placement of the holes.
DO NOT TIGHTEN THE
PURLIN MOUNTING BOLTS AT THIS TIME.
