RAFTER SETUP AND INSTALLATION
After the ground posts are installed and the side wall
framing is assembled and attached, install the rafters.
WARNING:
Setting the rafters in position requires
additional lifts and personnel.
Do not
attempt to set the
rafters without the proper equipment and adequate help.
Each rafter consists of four (4) rafter pipes, three (3)
rafter pipe couplers, and two (2) pipe connectors used to
attach the rafter ends to the ground post and center
crown.
Locate the following parts to
assemble one (1) rafter

ATTENTION:
Rafter Position #4 connects to the crown
at the peak of the arena. See Rafter Diagram at the end
of the instructions.
Complete these steps to assemble the rafters.
Use the rafter diagram at the end of the instructions.
1. Locate the four (4) sections of pipe for the first rafter
assembly.
2. Position the rafter pipes on a flat surface in the
manner shown on the rafter diagram. Start at the
first joint between the first two rafter pipes and insert
a coupler. Use a punch or screwdriver to align the
holes if needed.
3. Place two (2) 4" bolts into the lower rafter pipe.
4. Slide the upper rafter pipe onto the coupler and
place a 4" bolt into the first hole on the upper pipe
near the splice.
The top hole is for the 5 ½" bolt. Install two (2) purlin
connection brackets on the bolt before adding the
nut.
DO NOT TIGHTEN
the top 5 ½" bolt until all
purlins are installed.
NOTE:
When installed correctly, there will be four (4)
bolts at each splice of the assembled rafter: three 4" and
one 5 ½" hex bolts.
5. Tape the splices with duct tape to protect the cover.
6. Insert one 105092 end connector into each end of
the assembled rafter and attach using the 1/2" x 4"
bolts, 1/2" lock washers, and 1/2" nuts (FALB38B).
