DETAILED STEPS
Purpose Command or Action
Enables privileged EXEC mode. Enter your password if
prompted. enable
Example:
Switch> enable
Step 1
Enters the global configuration mode. configure terminal
Example:
Switch# configure terminal

Disables password recovery. no service password-recovery Step 3
Example:
Switch(config)# no service password-recovery
This setting is saved in an area of the flash memory that is
accessible by the boot loader and the Cisco IOS image, but
it is not part of the file system and is not accessible by any
user.
Returns to privileged EXEC mode.

Verifies your entries. show running-config
Example:
Switch# show running-config

(Optional) Saves your entries in the configuration file.
copy running-config startup-config
