ii. If the input frequency range and output frequency range are overlapped, the input/output isolation of the mixer
should be at least 1dB higher than the frequency transformation loss of the frequency overlapping part.
iii. The filter at the output end of the calibration mixer must be able to filter unnecessary mixing products and
ensure the passing of required mixing products.
c) Direction of calibration mixer/filter and reference mixer
The direction of the reference mixer is always the same as that of the tested mixer to ensure that the output
frequency is the same as that of DUT. The calibration mixer/filter can be used as the LO source at the upper and
lower transformation frequency. The internal source 2 can be used as the LO signal.
2) Establishment of vector mixer measurement
a) By the front panel: press [Meas] >
[Measurement Class]
.
b) Select
[Vector mixer measurement]
and click
[Delete current measurement]
. Then click
[New Channel]
to
establish the measurement in a new channel.
c) Set one VC21 measurement. The completion prompt will be displayed.
d) To add other parameters, click
[Trace] > [New Trace]
. Select one parameter from the list.
3) Parameters of vector mixer measurement
The DUT input end is generally connected to Port 1, and the DUT output end can be connected to any port.
a) VC21 VC31 and VC41: transformation loss or gain in the default mode, indicating the input end stimulus and
output end response.
b) S11: input end stimulus and response.
c) S22, S33 and S44: output end stimulus and response.
d) R1 or R: input end stimulus, and absolute power (not corrected) measured at the receiver end R1.
e) B, C and D: input end stimulus, and absolute power (not corrected) measured at the output end.
4) Setting of vector mixer calibration measurement
Menu path:
By the front panel: click
[Frequency] > [Mixer]
.
By the mouse: click
[Stimulus] > [Frequency] > [Mixer]
.
The following dialog box will appear on the screen. The mixer settings are the same as the scalar mixer settings.
