Appendix C: Troubleshooting Errors Reported By CNC11
Symptom or Error
Software Ready Fault
1. Software Ready Fault is caused by exiting the CNC11 software
without removing power from the Centroid hardware.
To clear this fault, cycle the Estop switch/PLC input or power off the
computer and all Centroid hardware and restart.
Symptom or Error
Spindle Fault
2. Spindle Fault
This fault is caused by the Spindle Fault PLC input (10)
being open. Go to the main screen in CNC11 and bring up the real-time
I/O screen to view the state of input 10. If input10 is red, your inverter is
reporting a fault or the overload on the spindle contactor is tripped.
Check that your inverter to determine the fault code being reported and
write it down. If your spindle is controlled by spindle contactors with
overloads try to reset the overload by pressing the reset button on the
overload. If the inverter has been programmed and wired correctly,
inverter faults can be cleared by pressing Estop and releasing it. If that
doesn't clear the fault on your inverter., power off and then restart. Try
running the spindle again. If it runs normally, line conditions may have
caused spurious fault and it's probably ok to run your machine normally.
If it faults again, there is either a problem with your inverter, overloads or
spindle motor.
