Appendix C: Troubleshooting Errors Reported By CNC11
Symptom or Error
Axis home differs
1. Axis home differs by #### counts
The most likely cause of this
error is a sticky home switch. This message indicates that the
distance from the point at which the home switch cleared to the home
position (index pulse location on the encoder) has changed position for
the axis indicated. For each axis, the control records the number of
encoder counts between the position at which the switch cleared and
the index pulse on the encoder. The next time the machine is powered
up and homed, the current distance in encoder counts is compared with
the previous distance and, if the difference between the 2 readings is
greater than 25% of the total number of encoder counts in 1 revolution
of the encoder, the message is displayed. In general, if the difference
reported is less than a full revolution of the encoder, this message can
be ignored but you should probably clean the switch. If the difference is
greater than or equal to a full encoder revolution, your part zero will
have moved and will need to be reset.

1. A locked G or M code was issued
This message includes the
specific line number on which the G or M code in question was issued in
the program. Please email a current report.zip from your system and a
copy of the program in question to
