STEP 27
Use a hoist and clevis (1) as shown to carefully install
the spindle assembly in the spindle housing.
NOTE: It is important to keep the spindle assembly
level during Step 27 through 30.
STEP 28
Install 2P-0081 spacer (1) and the spindle locknut
(2). Use the 2P-0083 Spindle Locknut Socket to
tighten the locknut and pull the spindle assembly and
seal into the spindle housing. Stop tightening when
the gap (4) between the spacer and the seal holder is
less than 1 mm.
NOTE: Strike the backside (3) of the spindle
assembly with a rubber hammer to help seat the seal
when the locknut is tight.
Remove the locknut (2) and 2P-0081 Spacer Tool (1)
from the spindle.
NOTE: It may be necessary to use the two bolts
provided with the 2P-0081 spacer to remove the
spacer from the spindle.
If possible lay the undercarriage on it’s side as shown
to make installing the outer bearing cone easier in
Steps 29 through 31. Be sure to support (5) spindle.
