4 - 24D18C Drive Wheel Seal And Bearing Replacement

STEP 24

NOTE:

On models prior to TRE0216003 will require

the 1000197 shim to be installed before the inner
bearing cup (1).

Follow the procedures in Step 23 to install the inner
bearing cup (1).

STEP 25

Apply a thin layer of Loctite® 598 sealant to the
mounting surface of the seal holder (1).

Install the seal holder (1). Apply Loctite® 271 or
equivalent to the seal holder mounting screws. Install
the screws (2) and tighten in a star pattern to 12 N•m
(9 ft-lb).

STEP 26

Apply pipe thread tape or sealant to the threads of
the three M14 plugs (1). Install the plugs and tighten.

NOTE:

Be sure the top of the plugs are flush or

below the surface of the spindle when tightened.
