Safety devices
The door systems are equipped with safety devices, which are described in the following chapters discussing
the functions.
5.9.1 Sensitive edge

Placement
The sensitive edge is built into the rubber profile of the closing edge of the door leaves.
Result
The door leaves reverse direction as soon as the sensitive edge encounters an obstacle.
5.9.2 Light curtain (optional)

The light curtain is located in the rubber profile of the closing edge of the door leaves.
Function
Touchless recognition of the presence of people and objects near the door
Result
The door leaves reverse direction as soon as the light curtain is interrupted.
5.9.3 Stationary light curtain or light beam (optional)

The light curtain or the light beam is located in the side door jambs or in the
building reveal.
Function
Traffic monitoring or recognition of the presence of people and objects near the door
Result
The door leaves reverse direction as soon as the light curtain or the light beam is
interrupted.
5.9.4 Safety sensors (optional)

The safety sensor is installed in the centre above the door system.
Function
Ensuring the closing operation occurs safely, recognition of the presence of people and
objects and a signal to open the door in the monitored area
Result
The door leaves reverse direction as soon as a person or an object is located in the area of
the radar detection zone.
5.9.5 Crash protection with spring-loaded stay bar (optional)
In order to avoid damage from being run into, the door panels can be equipped with a spring-loaded stay bar.
When there is contact with the door panel profiles from the side, the stay bar is released when a certain load
is exceeded.
5.9.6 Spring breakage monitoring (with the FRW option)
The torsion springs in the spring tubes are monitored for breakage of springs and jamming: if the spring force
during the door opening operation is not sufficient to cleanly roll up the skin with sufficient tension, then the
