MAINTENANCE

LUBRICATION

•

The recommended intervals are based on normal conditions. Severe or unusual conditions may require
shorter intervals.

•

Perform each lubrication and maintenance illustrated in this section at the beginning of the season and at
the end of the season.

•

Clean lubrication fittings before lubricating. Replace lost or broken fittings immediately. If a new fitting fails
to take grease, remove and check for failure of adjoining parts.

Lubrication Symbols

1. Follow hourly (C) intervals on grease symbols (A) and oil symbols (B).
2. GREASE SYMBOL
•

(A) Lubricate with High Temp EP grease or equivalent SAE multipurpose grease (Unless otherwise speci-
fied) at hourly intervals indicated on the symbols.

3. OIL SYMBOL
•

(B) Lubricate with SAE 30 or heavier oil at hourly intervals indicated on the symbols.

Grease

Use grease, based on NLGI consistency numbers and the expected air temperature range during the service
interval.

The following greases are preferred:

HD POLYUREA GREASE

The following types of grease are also
recommended:

•

HD MOLY GREASE

•

HD LITHIUM COMPLEX GREASE

•

HD WATER RESISTANT GREASE

•

GREASE-GARD

Other greases may be used if they meet the
following:

NLGI Performance Classification CG-LB

IMPORTANT:

Some types of grease thickener are

not compatible with other.
