6.6 Basic Function Batterie EVB1-400/350-40-HP
The battery EVB1-400/350-40-HP is designed and intended for fast and easy installation in electric vehicles.
Integrated pre-charge switching and the driving via CAN bus enable simple and problem-free integration into an
existing drive train. Through the integrated battery management system (BMS), the highest and lowest cell
voltages are continually communicated via CAN. The individual cell temperatures as well as their states of charge
are also sent this way. This way the entire battery can be continually monitored. If faults or errors occur, the BMS
sends a corresponding signal immediately via CAN to the higher-level control. If this is not reacted to accordingly,
then the battery disconnects itself from the DC intermediate circuit to ensure the battery's secure state. In principle
the battery never actually disconnects from the DC intermediate circuit as long as none of the following limits within
the CAN message Batt_Range are surpassed:

maximum discharging current (CAN signal BATT_CurrentDischargeMax )

maximum charging current (CAN signal BATT_CurrentChargeMax)

minimum battery voltage (CAN signal BATT_Voltage_Min)

maximum battery voltage (CAN signal BATT_Voltage_Max)
The higher than average energy and power density together with the proportionately low weight produce a very
good performance and enable usage in both areas of high performance electric vehicles and in range extender
systems in particular.
