Remove the 2 insulating flanges bet-
ween the intake manifold and the
cylinder head.

There is an O-ring under the elbow

Remove the connector brackets on
cylinder 3/4.

Procedure

Disconnect the wiring harness from the 
temperature sensor and remove the tem-
perature sensor. To do this, see section 
76-70-00 Sensors and actuators.

Loosen 4 M6x20 hex./torx collar screws 
from the intake manifold.

Disconnect the resistance spark plug con-
nector and remove the spark plugs. See 
also section 74-20-00 Distribution.

Procedure

Release the attachment of the airbox to 
the ignition housing.

Take off the spring type hose clip 25 using 
spring clamp pliers part no. 877840.

9

Mark the coolant hoses and pull them out 
of the coolant elbows (inlet). See also 
section 75-00-00 Cooling system.
