Each I/O device that is created has to be available in the device library.
Proceed as follows to create an I/O device:

Open the project in IWE
●
Switch the PLC offline
●
Drag&drop the I/O device from the library to the Sercos node
●
Switch the PLC online. The PLC with the changed configuration for
Sercos I/O devices is downloaded again
●
Connect the I/O device to MTX micro (X24 or X25) via Ethernet
●
Switch MTX micro off and on again. The address is assigned automati‐
cally after switching MTX micro on. Sporadically, MTX micro is started
multiple times
●
After the start-up, the I/O device is detected. Extend the PLC program to
contact the I/O addresses of the device
MTX micro automatically assigns Sercos addresses upon start-up.
Physically connect the I/O device in the same order they have
been created in IWE!
Query the status of the respective I/O devices via the Sercos I/O status dis‐
play.
