SECTION IV: INSTALLATION

WATER (POTABLE) HEATING AND SPACE HEATING CONNECTIONS

If this heater is used for water (potable) heating and space heating, the following

requirements apply:

- Piping and components to the water heater for the space heating application must be

suitable for use with potable water.

- Toxic chemicals, such as used for boiler treatment, shall not be introduced into the

potable water used for space heating.

- A water heater which will be used to supply potable water shall not be connected to

any heating system or component(s) previously used with a non-potable water heating

appliance.

- If the space heating requires water at a temperature higher than required for other uses,

a tempering valve shall be installed to reduce the water temperature for those uses in

order to lessen scald hazard potential.

- This water heater cannot be used for space heating applications only.

- Space heating piping connections shall be made to the free Hot/Cold connections on

the water heater. Two sets of Hot/Cold connections are supplied.
