To Restore the SiliconServer Configuration from Backup
Do the following to restore the server’s configuration settings from a backup file:
1.
Click the
EVS Management
link and
disable the EVS
before restoring the configuration.
2.
Click
browse...
to find and select a configuration file (e.g. registry_data.gz) for the
Restore Configuration field.
3.
Click the
restore
button. The file will be uploaded to Titan.
4.
Reboot the server for the changes to take effect.
If the configuration has been restored to the original server, the storage will be available once
the reboot is complete. If the configuration is being restored to a different server, as in the case
of disaster recovery, the storage may not be immediately available after the reboot. In such a
case, the Storage Pools may be displayed as being assigned to "another cluster". To make the
storage available, three steps are required:

Run
span-assign-to-cluster
from the CLI to associate the Storage Pools with
the server. For more information, run
man span-assign-to-cluster
at the CLI.
❑
Allow access to the Storage Pools. For more information, see "
To Allow Access to a
Storage Pool
".
❑
Assign the file systems to an EVS. If the file system is not currently associated
with an EVS, this assignment can be performed on the File System Details page.

Auto-Saved Configurations
The SMU automatically saves and maintains a two-week "rolling" archive of all of it’s managed
servers' configuration files. The archive consists of:
❑
Hourly backups for the current day (a maximum of 24 files).
❑
Daily backups for two weeks (a maximum of 14 files).
To Restore from the Auto-Saved SMU Archive
Do the following to restore the server’s configuration settings from the list of configuration
backups preserved on the SMU:
1.
Click the
EVS Management
link and
disable all EVS
before restoring the configuration.
2.
From the list of archived backups, select a configuration file to restore.
3.
Click the
restore
button. The file will be uploaded to Titan.
4.
Reboot the server for the changes to take effect.
To Delete an Auto-Saved Configuration file
To delete an Auto-Saved Configuration file, select it from the displayed list. Then, click
delete
.
