After the CIFS name has been added, the EVS must be restarted. See
EVS Management
for more information.
When complete, the Titan should be accessible through its configured CIFS name.
Adding a Server to a NT 4 Domain
To enable access to a Titan in an NT 4 domain, two steps must be performed:
1.
A computer account must be created in the NT domain.
2.
A corresponding NT 4 CIFS name must be created on the Titan SiliconServer.
To create a computer account in an NT 4 domain, run Server Manager from a Domain Controller
in the NT 4 Domain and create a new “Windows NT Workstation or Server” account using the
desired host name.
After the computer account has been created, the corresponding CIFS name must be created on
Titan. To do so, the following steps must be performed:
1.
From the Home page select File Services then click
CIFS Names
.
2.
Click
Add>>
.
3.
Enter the CIFS Serving name. This name must be identical to the name entered when
adding the computer account to the domain.
4.
Specify the NT4 domain name where indicated.
5.
Click
Apply
.
6.
After the CIFS name has been added, the EVS must be restarted. See
EVS Management
for more information.
Once complete, the Titan should be accessible through its configured NT 4 CIFS name.
