Configure the following settings. Click “Save” when done.
• Name: Specify a unique name to identify the remote office.
• Protocol: Select the protocol to use on the connection: SIP or IAX2.
• Authentication method: Select one of the following options:
- User Name: Select this option if the two Hybrid PBX and VoIP Gateways are connected via the Internet. Make sure that Name
and Password are identical on both units.
- IP Address: Select this option if the two Hybrid PBX and VoIP Gateways are in the same office and connected via a LAN, or if
they are in separate offices and connected using a VPN tunnel.
• IP Address: Specify the IP address of the Hybrid PBX and VoIP Gateway WAN port at the remote office. If the port is hidden
behind a router with a firewall or NAT, you need to specify the public IP address of the router, and then configure port forward-
ing on the router to pass SIP (or IAX2 traffic). See the chapter titled “Remote branch setup” in the Hybrid PBX and VoIP
Gateway Administrator’s Guide.
• Password: Specify a password to protect the connection. The password should be at least 12 characters long and contain a
combination of uppercase/lowercase letters, numbers, and at least one symbol.
• Remote Branch extension starts with X followed by Y digits: Select the prefix (X) that users will dial to reach the branch office,
then select the number of digits used to identify extensions at the branch office (Y).
