Chapter 3: Installation
• If installing Scenario 2, connect the Ethernet Port 4 to the ISP’s router/switch.
Connect the FXO ports
• Connect the analog phone lines supplied by your phone company to the FXO ports. You will need to use line splitters since
each port supports two lines.
• To support failover, make sure that you connect an analog line to:
• FXO1 on the IPBX424
• FXO9 on the IPBX1224
Connect the FXS ports
• On the IPBX424, connect an analog phone to FXS1. During a power failure, FXS1 is bridged to FXO1, allowing you to make
analog phone calls. Connect another analog device (such as a fax machine), to FXS2.
• On the IPBX1224, connect an analog phone to FXS2. During a power failure, FXS2 is bridged to FXO9, allowing you to make
analog phone calls. Connect another analog device (such as a fax machine), to FXS1.
Connect audio ports
• Connect the Audio In port to an external audio source (to provide music on hold).
• Connect the Audio Out port to a paging system.
