STEP 1J: Read all safety disclaimers and installation warnings (see below).
Power
Only use the power supply provided with the Hybrid PBX and VoIP Gateway. The Hybrid PBX and VoIP Gateway is shipped with
an international plug system rated at 12V/2A. Failing to use the included power supply will void your warranty.
PSTN connections
The Hybrid PBX and VoIP Gateway has been designed to be connected to the public switched telephone network (PSTN) and
should not be connected to any other type of telecommunications service or services. Doing so will void your warranty and may
cause
damage to the Hybrid PBX and VoIP Gateway or any connected network equipment.
Environment
Install the Hybrid PBX and VoIP Gateway in a location that is clean, and free from vibration, electric shock, and temperature/
humidity extremes. The operating temperature should be kept below 104° F (40° C).
3.2.2 STEP 2: Install the Hybrid PBX and VoIP Gateway
The following steps describe how to install the Hybrid PBX and VoIP Gateway hardware and connect all cables for a typical instal-
lation.
STEP 2A: Install auxiliary memory.
Install auxiliary memory in a USB port. For requirements, see Section 3.2.1, STEP 1C.
STEP 2B: Connect power.
Connect the power supply to the Hybrid PBX and VoIP Gateway.
• When the Circle light stops blinking, the PBX is fully operational.
• If all the status lights turn on, it means a hardware fault has occurred. Disconnect power, then reconnect power. If the fault
condition persists, contact Black Box Technical Support at 724-746-5500 or [email protected].
STEP 2C: Connect all cables.
Connect the Ethernet ports.
Make the following connections using standard Category 5 Ethernet cables.
• Connect Ethernet Port 1 to the network that provides connectivity to your SIP phones.
• Connect Ethernet Port 2 to the computer you will use to initially configure the Hybrid PBX and VoIP Gateway.
