4. Slowly turn the glass to an upright position during the drawing process.
5. Close the tap as soon as the froth has reached the edge of the glass by moving the
tap handle into the vertical position (
Picture H
).
6. Place the glass on the drainage grille and wait until the froth has settled.
7. Repeat the drawing process (steps 2 – 6) until a pleasant ratio between beer and
froth has been achieved. The ideal frothy head should be around the width of two
fi
ngers high and protrude slightly beyond the edge of the glass.
8. After drawing, turn the pressure regulator back as far as it will go to the
– (Minus)
position.
Too Much Frothing – What To Do?
• Allow the beer keg to rest for around two hours before tapping into it.
• Allow the beer keg to rest for at least one hour after tapping into and connecting it.
• Allow the beer to cool down su
ffi
ciently. Warm beer tends to produce a large amount
of froth.
• Reduce the pressure by turning the pressure regulator (
15
) towards
– (Minus).
• Rinse out the glasses with cold, clear water before each glass of beer you draw.
• Always keep the tap handle (
2
) fully horizontal. If the tap is only opened halfway, the
beer is unable to
fl
ow unimpeded and will froth.
• Hold the glass at an angle under the tap (
3
) so that the beer can run down the wall
of the glass.
PLEASE NOTE:
The pressure does not change immediately, but is
gradually adjusted. It can therefore take up to an hour before a change becomes
noticeable.
• Do not dip the nozzle spout (
4
) of the tap in the beer.
• In spite of all measures, it is normal for the beer to produce a lot of froth when the
fi
rst
few glasses are poured after tapping into the keg.
After Use
Rinsing Through the Beer Line
The beer line must also be cleaned when a beer keg is used, as soon as no beer has
been drawn overnight or for a prolonged period. To rinse through the beer line, the clean-
ing balloon (
29
) which is also supplied and a vessel containing warm water and possibly
a special disinfecting cleaner is required (see the “Cleaning” chapter).
The short period of time of the rinsing process, during which the cooling of the
tapped beer keg is interrupted, has no negative e
ff
ect on preserving the beer.
1. Move the On / O
ff
switch (
8
) to the
0
position to switch o
ff
the device.
2. Remove the mains plug from the plug socket.
3. Open the lid (
14
) by pressing the release button (
1
).
4.
Only the beer line (!)
should be disconnected from the beer keg (see the “Prepara-
tion” chapter – “Tapping Into and Connecting the Beer Keg” and “Connecting a Fresh
Keg”).
