CAUTION

Route leadwires neatly. Ensure leadwires are kept away from patient’s neck to
avoid strangulation. Keep floors and walkways free of cables to reduce risk to
hospital personnel, patients and visitors.
NOTE
•
It is recommended that the electrodes be changed at least every 24 to 36 hours
to maintain proper contact with the skin, although some patients may require
more frequent changing. Do not reapply disposable electrode. Try to avoid
reusing the exact same electrode site during reapplication. If an electrode
becomes wet with fluid, change the electrode.
7.3.3 Configuring the ECG Lead Labeling
7.3.3.1 Lead Naming Standards
This manual presents lead placement according to the guidelines of the American Heart
Association (AHA) and the International Electro-Technical Commission (IEC).
7.3.3.2 Configuring the ECG Lead Labeling and Cable Type
To configure the ECG lead labeling and cable type, follow this procedure:
1. Press the key to enter the main menu.
2. Tap Maintenance , enter the passcode, and then tap Accept .
3. Tap General .
4. Tap ECG Lead Labeling and set it to AHA or IEC .
5. Tap any area in the ECG waveform or parameter area to call up the ECG menu.
6. Set Cable Type to 3 Lead , 5 Lead , 6 Lead , or Auto according to your requirement.
