8.1.1 BML parameters and functions
The following options are available to change the BML
configuration:
Parameters Options Note
Serial interface BiSS/SSI Sets the type of serial interface.
SSI mode Binary/Gray Transmission type for SSI interface
Resolution AB Multiple selection options Sets the resolution in the range 2...17 bits. (The resolution set
here applies to both the ABZ and the BiSS/SSI interface)
Min. edge separation Multiple selection options Sets the minimum edge separation for the quadrature output.
Only together with ABZ (quadrature signals).
Master period count 16 Master period count per master track = 16
32 Master period count per master track = 32
64 Master period count per master track = 64
256 Master period count per master track = 256
1024 Master period count per master track = 1024
BiSS Pos. data length Is set automatically
depending on the master
period count
Specifies the data length of the BiSS communication.
Application type Rotative (axial) Axial rotative application (magnetic disk)
Rotative (radial) / linear Radial rotative application (magnetic ring) / Linear application,
magnetic tape
Output( incremental) Not inverted Rising output curve
Inverted Falling output curve
Hysteresis/Latency Multiple selection options Different filters for position detection can be selected in the
sensor module. For filter stage A an additional hysteresis of
0.175° results.
