Web browsers (HTTP)
The AXIS StorPoint HD supports HTTP over TCP/IP. This means
that the StorPoint HD works as a WWW server, available on the
Internet and intranets. To access the StorPoint HD Home Page the
Internet address must be set, as described in “
TCP/IP ” on page 20.
Naturally, the files on the Jaz disks can be accessed directly from other
Web servers without ‘passing’ the StorPoint HD Home Page.
If required, the HTTP support can be switch on or off using the
parameter
HTTPEnable
(default setting is on) as described in “Section
5 - StorPoint HD Configuration ” on page 47.
Accessing the StorPoint HD can be made from any standard Web
browser, e.g. Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer. The
example below uses Netscape Navigator.
Netscape Navigator
1. Start the Netscape Navigator.
2. From the File menu, select Open Location... The following dialog
is displayed:
3. Enter the URL of the server, i.e.
http://<Internet address>
.
Alternatively use the host name assigned to the StorPoint HD.
