Configuration using a Text Editor
The configuration of the StorPoint HD can be performed from your
favorite editor in any environment. The basic principle is to open the
config.ini file in the config folder, make the changes and then save the
file. The file structure is described in “ The StorPoint HD File System ”
on page 26.
Follow the steps below to configure the StorPoint HD using a text
editor. In the examples below the Windows Notepad editor on a
Windows 95 workstation is used.
1. Start the Windows Explorer from the Start/Programs Menu.
2. Locate the StorPoint HD.
3. In the config folder, locate the
config.ini
file. Open the file using
the Windows Notepad editor or any other editor. In standard
Explorer setup, double clicking a
ini -file will automatically open the
file with the Notepad editor. An example is shown below.
The configuration file illustrated above is for the 1.00 version of the
StorPoint software. Software updates will become available from
time to time, refer to “
Updating the Software and Extending the
Memory ” on page 83.
