Set the Internet
Address Using
the DHCP Method
Follow the step-by-step procedure below to use the dhcp method:
1. Edit or create a scope in the dhcp manager of the dhcp daemon.
The entries made in this scope should include the following:
• Subnet mask
• Default router Internet address
• NetBIOS over TCP/IP name server Internet address(es)
• NetBIOS over TCP/IP node type
• NetBIOS over TCP/IP scope ID
• Lease duration
2. Activate the scope
3. Set the
DHCPEnable
parameter to
yes
in the Config file of the
StorPoint HD.
Using WINS with the
StorPoint HD
If you intend to use WINS you must set the
WINSEnable
parameter to
yes
in the Config file of the StorPoint HD. You can also set the
Primary and Secondary WINS server address, and the Scope ID, as
required, by using one of the methods outlined in “Section 5 -
StorPoint HD Configuration ” on page 47.
The AXIS StorPoint HD is now ready to be accessed using TCP/IP.
Node Type The StorPoint server can act either as a B Node (WINS
disabled), or as a H Node (WINS enabled)
