Section 4: Accessing Networked Jaz Drives
AXIS StorPoint HD 41 User’s Manual
If you do not have Peer for OS/2, the StorPoint HD can be mapped to
a drive letter using the
net use command. Do as follows:
1. Open an OS/2 window.
2. Use the net use command to mount the StorPoint HD.
At the OS/2 prompt, type:
net use <drive letter>: \\AXIS<nnnnnn>\<folder>, where
<nnnnnn> are the six last digits of your StorPoint HD serial number
and <folder> is any StorPoint HD folder.
3. To make the connections permanent, create or edit your
startup.cmd file to include your net use commands.
DOS
The StorPoint HD is mounted using the net use command, provided
that the appropriate network support is installed.
1. Use the net use command to mount the StorPoint HD.
At the DOS prompt, type:
net use <drive letter>: \\AXIS<nnnnnn>\<folder>, where
<nnnnnn> are the six last digits of your AXIS StorPoint HD serial
number and
<folder>
is any StorPoint HD folder.
Example (root level access):
To access the root level of your StorPoint HD with serial number
00408C18025C under the drive letter E, type:
Example (jaz folder access):
If your StorPoint HD serial number is 00408C18025C, and you
want to be able to access all the Jaz disks under the drive letter F,
type:
Example (Jaz disk access):
net use E: \\AXIS18025C\root
net use F: \\AXIS18025C\jaz
