DIAGNOSTIC TOOL: ADJUSTMENTS

Resetting the rotary sensor

•

When the bike comes off the line a set up measurement is set (in mm), height off the ground,

that the system recognises as a reference position.

•

In case of replacement of the rotating potentiometer the potentiometer must be reset. To

reset, place the motorcycle on the central stand with the rear wheel lifted from the ground;

or, if there is no central stand, follow the lifting instructions in the chapter: Rear shock ab-

sorber removal.

DIAGNOSTIC TOOL: ELECTRICAL ERRORS

VCU ERRORS

Rotary sensor error Output 1 short circuit or open circuit C1404

Error cause

•

If short circuit: excessive voltage is found or null voltage between VCU PIN B3 and rotary

sensor PIN 2.

•

If the circuit is open: an interruption is found.

Troubleshooting

•

If short circuit: disconnect the rotary sensor connector and check insulation from ground and

power between sensor PIN 2 and VCU PIN B3: if insulation is not present, restore the cable

harness; otherwise replace the sensor.
