DIAGNOSTICS INSTRUMENT: ELECTRICAL ERRORS

VCU ERRORS

Front brake switch short circuit error C1505

Error cause

•

Short circuit found between VCU connector PIN C2 and the switch connector output (M/bi)

or between VCU connector PIN D2 and the connector switch output (G/Ro).

Troubleshooting

•

Check ground and power insulation of the two button cables (VCU PIN C2 and PIN D2).

•

Disconnect the switch connector and the VCU. Check that the cable harness side switch

connector PIN 1 (G/Ro) is insulated from ground and power and also from connector PIN 3

(M/Bi). Also check that the connector PIN 3 (M/Bi) is insulated from ground and power. If

faults are found restore the cable harness. If the checks return positive results, check on the

switch side connector that there is continuity between PIN 1 (G/Ro) and PIN 2 (Gr/N) to the

pulled brake lever and infinite resistance with the lever released. Also check that there is

continuity between PIN 3 (M/Bi) and PIN 2 (Gr/N) with the brake lever released and infinite

resistance with the lever pulled. Otherwise, replace the brake switch.

Recovery

If current is constant on the fork cruise control does not activate.

Front brake switch open circuit error C1506

Error cause

•

Circuit interruption detected.

Troubleshooting

•

Check the correct operation of the button contacts and its two positions and the continuity

of the cables between button connector and VCU connector (PIN C2 and PIN D2). If all the

above checks return a positive result replace the button.

•

Disconnect the switch connector and the VCU. Check that there is continuity between the

cable harness side switch connector PIN 1 (G/Ro) and VCU PIN D2. Check that there is

continuity between the cable harness side switch connector PIN 2 (Gr/Ne) and VCU PIN
