Chapter 13 - MAINTENANCE
13.1
INTRODUCTION
The primary purpose of this chapter is to provide you with information on proper machine maintenance and to
select all those operations that are performed at the same expiration date, facilitating procedures and lowering
downtime.
People involved in maintenance and repair of the machine must necessarily have the training, sills and tools to
perform these functions properly.
Improper maintenance or repair of the machine may be dangerous and may result in injury or damage.
Most machine maintenance and repair incidents are caused by failure to observe the basic rules or safety
precautions. You can often avoid an accident by recognizing potentially dangerous situations.
Do not use the machine or perform any maintenance or repair work until you have read and understood all
relevant information.
It is not possible to foresee all the possible cirucustances that may pose potential hazards. The warnings in
this publication are therefore not comprehensive.
If you take procedures, equipment, or methods not specifically recommended ensure that work is performed
safely for those who perform it and for others.
Carefully read all the safety instructions
in the User’s guide, especially
those regarding general and specific MAINTEANCE NOTES.
Always switch off the engine and wait for the machine to cool before
starting maintenance, except for those procedures that are specifically
foreseen
If a job has to be run on the machine before it has cooled down, pay
attention to the hot parts and hot liquids of the machine to avoid burns.
Before starting maintenance, place the machine on a solid and flat ground
and bring the bucket to the ground.
Do not jumb to climb and get off the machine. Do not go up and down when
the machine is running.
Never grab the manipulators to climb or descend. Use handrails and steps
when you enter, exit or climb on the car.
Never grab joysticks to get on or off the machine. Use handrails and stairs
when entering, exiting or getting on machine.
Always use three sealing points, such as two hands and one foot or two
feet and one hand. Always turn to the machine.
