3.3 PRECAUTIONS IN MAINTENANCE
CORRECT MAINTENANCE
Always follow the instructins given before using the machine or any other work on the machine.
Please read all the provisions contained in this manual carefully.
Always read the nameplates and instructions on the machine and the manual before starting any work on
the machine. The instructions contain important information (see parag. 3.4 “Stikers”)
Repairs and maintenance of the machine may only be carried out by authorized personnel. Do not allow
access to the area to unauthorized personnel. If necessary, monitor the area from someone.
Before proceeding with any operation, apply the ppropriate safety devices.
First of all, make sure that the maintenance operations have been carried out with care, respecting the
established intervals.
Always wear suitable protective clothing and the other protections required depending on the type of work
to be carried out.
Do not leave hammers or other scattered tools in the workplace. Clean the traces of grease, oil or other
substances that may slip. Always keep thejob clean and ordered so that you can carry out any operation
with maximum safety. If the workplace is not clean and in order, there is a risk of stumbling, slipping or
falling and hence getting hurt.
Ensure the good condition of all the tools provided.never use tools with reclined heads, always wear
protective goggles.
Always clean the machine to avoid dirt and oil spills. This also reduces the risk of fire and it is easier to
locate broken components and detached parts.
Do not lubricate or repair the machine while holding the engine running, except in the cases expressly
required by this manual.
Avoid signs indicating danger are tampered with or rendered unreadable.
Do not use parts of the machine, such as hangers or supports to perform jobs.
Do not use free matches, lighters, flashlights or flames to lighten obscured areas.
Use lighting headlights (both auxiliary) so that they do not dazzle the workforce.
ORDINARY MAINTENANCE
Always lower the ground equipment and discharge the hydraulic pressure fromall circuits before servicing
the machine.
Insert all safety devices on the machine and disengage the ignition key.
Depending on the type of maintenance to be carried out, disconnect the switch-off and apply a sign in the
driver’seat to indicate ongoing maintenance.
EXTRAORDINARY MAINTENANCE
Do not start the machine in closed rooms without adequate ventilation.
Always keep your head, body, limbs andhands away from moving and/or lifting gear.
Do not remove, if not for maintenance reasons, safety devices, covers and protections.
If it is necessary to remove them, be careful and reassemble them before using the machine.
If it is necessary tomove the equipment by hydraulic control druing a maintenance operation, proceed as
follows:
- before starting the engine, alert all people nearby and may approach the vehicle;
- operate from the seat in the driving position, never use the position controls other than the one from the
driving seat;
- insert the parking brake;
- signal the maneuvers both in voice and with the horn;
- maneuver slowly;
- always lock the parts that will remain lifted during theoperation with external means
